Aya B., Computer Science, Syria
Aya B. was born in Afrin, which she describes as, 鈥渙ne of the most beautiful and charming cities in Syria.鈥 From an early age, Aya dedicated herself to her studies.
鈥淎s a child I loved reading, and everyone envied my beautiful handwriting. I remember being loved by my teachers. Despite the popularity, I remained shy and quiet throughout my school years,鈥 she says with a bright smile.
Unfortunately, her happy childhood was overshadowed when her home country found itself embroiled in war and conflict. It was during this time that her father fell ill, adding even more stress to the family.
鈥淚t was very difficult to take my final exams at high school,鈥 she shared. 鈥淏ut I managed to pass my exams and quickly enrolled in the university. The war became a large roadblock in my path, putting a stop to my studies. Reading emerged as a highlight in the tough times.鈥
Aya鈥檚 desire to complete her higher education remained strong. She calls SA国际传媒 the miracle she needed.
鈥淚 love computer science and hoped I would get into a bachelor鈥檚 program at a university. One of my close friends told me about UoPeople and I felt it would be the best fit. They helped and supported me through the registration process, and I was able to get a full scholarship to pursue my dreams,鈥 she says with a large smile on her face.
The big question is, what does Aya want to do when she graduates? She wants to build a career in web programming where she can travel the world, working with global companies. Although it can be challenging to manage her full-time studies along with her family responsibilities, she says the flexibility offered by UoPeople makes success possible.
鈥淯oPeople strengthens my belief in determination and courage to start anything to achieve the big things in life. To all people wanting to learn, my message is very simple: don鈥檛 give up hope. The conditions in your homes or your country don鈥檛 define you,鈥 Aya says with pride.
